Prayer at the end of the day

For Ignatius the Examen of Conscience is a very important and effective means for cultivating an even greater intimacy with God and thus to find God in all realities. This type of prayer can be done at the end of the day as a way to give thanks for that day that has just passed. It is a simple method. See it below. Examen of Conscience in 5 points:

1. Ask for light. Ask for God's light so as to review the day as God saw it.

2. Recall what happened during that day. Be thankful for all that was good.

3. Pay attention to the outstanding things, also to the small things. Ask how God spoke to you today by his word and life. How did you respond to God?

4. Ask pardon for the actions that do not conform to the teaching of the Gospel.

5. Foresee what you can do better on the following day and entrust yourself to the grace of God.
